Training
Programs and certifications building mental health, suicide prevention and emergency response capability.
AIHS – Emergency Response Certification
The Emergency Response Certification (ERC) Program is designed to recognise the skills, knowledge, and capability of emergency response professionals in the Western Australian mining industry. It supports safer workplaces by providing two certification levels aligned to nationally recognised units of competency.
Lifeline – Resourceful Mind
The Resourceful Mind program was created in response to research showing that resource sector workers are at greater risk of mental ill health due to factors such as isolation, long hours, high job demands, and limited access to support services. Through Resourceful Mind, Lifeline WA trains peer supporters, known as Minders, to be trusted, approachable contacts for colleagues navigating personal or work-related challenges.
MATES – MATES Program
The MATES Program is a workplace mental health and suicide prevention initiative focused on creating supportive, connected and mentally healthy mining workplaces. It raises awareness of suicide as preventable, strengthens workers’ ability to recognise when someone may be struggling and encourages help-seeking and help-offering behaviours. The program promotes a culture in which workers look out for one another and know how to access support when needed.
